Dave Nichols
Co-Founder | President
Dave Nichols is the co-founder and president of Feel The Vibe, where he leads with a lifelong commitment to community empowerment and human connection. With over three decades of experience in community development, affordable housing, and international service, Dave brings both a global perspective and local insight to the mission of reducing social isolation and strengthening relational health.
A resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dave began his professional journey in a Peace Corps-type church-related program, where he served in community development roles that deepened his understanding of the power of grassroots engagement. That formative experience shaped a career focused on empowering people to improve their own lives and communities through relationships, shared purpose, and practical support.
Throughout his career, Dave led innovative projects in affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization, and resident-led planning. He worked with local governments, housing authorities, and nonprofit organizations to create inclusive communities where all people — regardless of age, income, or background — can thrive. His work consistently emphasized the importance of belonging and having a voice, particularly for those often overlooked in traditional systems.
In co-founding Feel The Vibe, Dave brought together his deep experience in community infrastructure with his passion for inner well-being. He recognized that social disconnection, just like poor housing or inadequate services, is a root barrier to health, opportunity, and stability. He co-designed Feel The Vibe’s model to be as practical as it is profound: one-on-one deep listening, volunteer-led engagement, and intergenerational connection that meets people where they are, without judgment or agenda.
Today, Dave leads the organization’s strategic development, ensuring that its programming remains grounded in equity, accessibility, and measurable impact. He works closely with partners across the housing, health, education, and philanthropic sectors to adapt Feel The Vibe’s approach to various community contexts — from congregate housing settings to university campuses and online platforms.
Dave is known for his systems thinking, collaborative leadership, and deep respect for lived experience. His work has earned the trust of funders, civic leaders, and grassroots organizers alike. He continues to advocate for human-centered approaches that build both social fabric and structural change, believing that when people feel heard, they become empowered agents of transformation in their own lives and neighborhoods.
Dave holds a Master of Divinity degree and has completed advanced training in business management, community development, nonprofit leadership, and participatory planning. At his core, he believes that listening is not a passive act; it is an act of love, respect, and courage. Through Feel The Vibe, he invites others to listen deeply, connect authentically, and help build a more compassionate world.
