Charlotteans Re-Connecting

To End Social Isolation Within Young People of Greater Charlotte

Social isolation is the strongest and most reliable predictor of suicidal ideation, attempts, and completion. This problem is especially acute among young adults.

Young adults are almost twice as likely to report feeling lonely than seniors. For young people ages 15-24, from 2003-2020 time spent in person with friends decreased by 70 percent. The situation is worse now than during the pandemic. Young adults are, despite social media, more lonely than ever.

To reach disconnected young adults, we are initiating our Re-Connecting Charlotte project in Mecklenburg County, NC. You are invited to join us.

Together, as a community, we can give the gift of healthy connectedness to every distressed young adult in the greater Charlotte area.
